Found a pic of how I did mine. It's been working well so far.

Rod storage

For surfcasters with 10 to 11 ft rods that leave their rigs alone on the beach at night (night shift crew : ) . this works for me. I use Sure lock rod hangers. Black's Sure-Lock Rod Hanger | Bass Pro Shops: The Best Hunting, Fishing, Camping & Outdoor Gear. You can attach them to 1" aluminum straps and then into the roof rib or whatever.

Would you do anything different if you had a telecoping rod? I have one I use for rivers and lakes in my mountains. The one I have is years old, but still works great, though am thing of getting anew one that’s a fiberglass combo and is stronger, yet lighter.
So far I just toss it ( carefully) into the overhead compartment above front seats.

Hi ConnieKat, if the rod is under 6 ft. I usually just throw it under the bed but seldom use anything smaller then that.
