Re: Aluminum Underfloor Storage Box $300 (15.5"x15.5"x32")

I finally installed my box I bought from Sam. I went with the dimensions 15"x15"x32" because I felt 15 1/2" was going to be a little to tight. Once I got it, I am glad I did because I do not think it would fit without some major work. Here is the box Sam built.

I remove the spare tire bracket and did some serious grinding to open up the space for the box

Then I cut the opening in the van floor for the top....measured probably 5 times before I cut! Box slid in like I knew what I was doing.

Got everything buttoned back up, just need to figure out what type of handle I want to use.

I really like the finished product. Sam builds awesome boxes and he was great to work with.

Thanks Sam

Are you still making boxes/taking orders? I'd still like to get in on this.

How are these boxes supported? They look super clean from inside and below and I'm not really envisioning how the box itself is secured in place.

My original post on DIY underfloor storage box has a good thread (page 3 I think) that has several pictures of the install process from my original box.

Let me know if you have further questions. Basically it's four bolts through the floor of the van and through the top of the box at the corners.

Cheers,

Sam Mulder
