TwoXentrix, that's a very good point about the air pressure. I didn't think about the availability of compressed air at 80 psi. Also, like the idea of a wider tread. Thanks for posting your thoughts!

PLEASE replace those tires with something! Three years ago we were leaving Albuquerque for OKC and went by our Discount tire store for a pressure/wear check. Ten year service limit would have been in 3 months and service advisor recommended new tires, but no issues with great tread and wear. Figured it was a sales “gimmick” and left; Stopped for lunch two hours later and did usual tire check with all OK; catastrophic blowout one hour later rolling and totaled our 2000 Sportsmobile. Top end Michelin truck tires. PLEASE get new something; Internet research revealed it was NOT a sales gimmick but based on ozone damage and resulting tire glue failure!

I bought a set for my 2007 E350 Quigley, 285/70-17 on a 17 x 9 wheel with -12mm offset, 32.6" diameter and required a little fender trimming in full lock but they look dynamite and very similar to BFGs

Mitch, thanks for the warning. Can't believe you totaled your SMB and right after visiting the tire shop. I hope nobody got hurt! My rig is in my shop until spring. I have several projects to complete before our Alaska trip this summer and tires is one of the projects. I plan to install a RIP kit, updated Quigley control arms, new brakes and rotors front and back, rear axle seal, front ujoint, differential seals and the dreaded exhaust manifolds. I'm planning to get this done by spring break so I can take it to Vancouver Island for a shakedown cruise before Alaska.
