Favorite Beer
Its St. Pat's day. When better to start an off-topic thread about beer. Beer is the sweet nectar of the gods. So, being as I'm in the absolute best beer production area in the world (not an opinion, but rather fact), let's get the keg rolling.
Best beer in the universe is Full Sail Session Ale. Your opinions may differ, and you should post those opinions here (although you'd be wrong). I know you CO-types will probably tout the pleasures of a good Fat Tire or those in the Lone Star state may claim that Shiner Bock is far better than any, but you'd all be wrong. Not to forget those traveling in Baja will no doubt express their love of Pacifico. Wrong though you all may be, lets hear it for your favorite beer.

I too am a fan of Full Sail Sessions (especially the stubby little bottles)but my all time favorite might have to be a Deschutes Mirror Pond followed closely by their Black Butte Porter (more of my winter fave).
The SMB has proved very useful in smuggling large quantities of micro brew here into UT as our selection isn't the best - although we did start getting Full Sail the last yr or so....

Heading to Moab May 2nd/3rd to do some dirt biking. Do I need to bring you a fix? Could be just like Smokey and the Bandit. I've got a CB (the first I've owned since the time of that movie).

Think Globally, Drink Locally
Personally, I adhere to the maxim: Think Globally, Drink Locally. Therefore, my favorite beer is whatever craft brew is made close-by to wherever I am. Hint: if I can buy it out of state, it doesn't qualify. I will grudgingly allow beer I can buy in bottles at local liquor stores.
My current favorites are Carver's Old Oak Amber and Steamworks Powder Daze Porter. Which you can't get outside Durango. But when I am traveling, I am happy to discover new local favorites!

Another vote for Black Butte Porter.
And while up in Montana on my summer road trip I found Big Sky Brewing's Moose Drool. Very tasty.
However tonight I will have a Guiness or two, and not too cold.
Mmm tasty.

I must admit I do enjoy a good Pig's Ass Porter when I ride my bike to Missoula every Summer. Oh how I look forward to wrapping my lips around a nice big Pig's Ass in the full blown afternoon heat of July.

I don't know. There's something heretical in limiting yourself to just one beer. Even for something as benign as a thread on favorites.
I do agree with windom about drinking locally. We're lucky to have a lot of great beers around here. One I had for the first time the other day, which was really good, was Chopper's Red Ale.
