Re: Another Satisfied Deaver Spring Customer
More important than springs, what shocks are you running?

I just got the van back a couple of weeks ago and the final quoted weight from SMB was 8,147lb for the RB50 configuration with pop-top. Consequently, the rear sits 2" too high and has a slightly rough ride (this coming from a guy who's DD is a rockcrawler) but definitely more than tolerable. I just dropped the van off today for him to re-arch the rears to make it level and asked him to "dial in" the ride. I told him I think it's a little rough and has a bit of a bucking tendency due to the lighter than expected rear end. He said he'll be done by this Friday, so I'll let you guys know what he does for my case.

My Deaver's settled in after several months causing the rear to sag. Deaver had to send me another leaf to bring the ride back to level. No charge for the leaf but it was cheaper to have it installed locally rather than the long drive

Brent, how finished out is the interior of your van?
I ask because if it isn't fully insulated yet, the ride can seem worse than it is because of the noise.
Also, here's something to look at. I run them on my van: https://www.sulastic.com/
My springs are stock, except with a couple F350 leafs added into the pack, and the Sulastic shackles take out a good amount of the harshness.
The van is still mostly empty when it comes to insulation etc. I have the fridge, shower, toilet, bed and a bunch of tools in there now.
It should be relative though as the ride/noise with the old/original springs seems about the same as the new springs.
I was very specific with Jeff in my original email to him about what I was looking for and he assured me his springs would improve on those issues. I sent him an email this am and I still have not made contact with him as I have been slammed with work so he may have a fix/solution.....
Still no reply from Jeff via email. Call on Tuesday is in order.
I've also noticed a whole vehicle vibration around 65mph since the new spring install. Could the springs be a cause of this?
Did the springs change the rear ride height? Do the springs need an angled spacer block? If so, the drive line angle could be affected and then yes, it could create a vibration.

I had the stock QuadVan springs (Which I believe are Fords), 4" block and Bilsteins in the back. Jeff left the shocks and just replaced the spring back with his.
