Winch Clinic - Sunday December 12, 2010

I am signed up to attend the Basic to Advanced Winching & Recovery Clinic offered by Tom Severin from Badlands 4x4 Training on Sunday, December 12. Tom called me yesterday and said that so far, I am the only one signed up. Though a few more may sign up at the last minute, if he doesn't get a minimum of 4 vehicles, he'll have to cancel the class. This looks like a great class and could be an opportunity to get a few SMBs together and learn how to pull each other out of jams. Tom is the same person that did the class that Angel starred in (viewtopic.php?f=8&t=5821) and I will be taking that one the day before this winch class. Dave from adventureduo.com took the class and wrote about it on his blog (http://www.adventureduo.com/2010/10/bru ... overy.html). For more info about the class, click here.

Would love to, but it's the same weekend my parents are coming to visit. I don't think my wife would appreciate me bailing out and leaving here to the in-laws.

Really, your wife's parents should really know how to winch properly.

Re: Winch Clinic - Sunday December 12, 2010 *UPDATED*

Alan Feld of Sportsmobile West is planning to attend Sunday's winch clinic. That makes three Sportsmobiles in Sunday's class so far! On Saturday, two of Alan's new sales guys and possibly his son Jonathan will be taking Tom's beginning off-road driving class, which my wife and I are also taking. Alan is planning to come down Friday night and camp nearby. He'll attend Saturday's class as an observer then stay to participate in Sunday's winching class. I can't camp Friday, but I can probably camp on Saturday night.

Here is a chance to learn driving and recovery techniques from an incredibly experienced instructor in the company of other SMB owners. For more info on these and other Badlands Off-Road Adventure classes and events, go to http://www.4x4training.com. I hope to see you there!

Re: Winch Clinic - Sunday December 12, 2010

Did not get the Red memo in time sorry so I was the odd one out. What a great class on the proper and safe ways to winch.

Steve my hats off to you. You did some pretty hard crap with a lot of everything you will come accross while using our vans. Ya it being your second day off road.

My copilot keep saying no way these our amazing and still ride better then my jeep. It was neet to watch all 3 types Guigely SMB and Quad do it thing.

Steve and I came out with a couple marks and Alan just cleaned everthing.

Tom again thanks for everthing
