Is the key too worn? I have a van with the same symptoms and it is the key. It will seldom if ever open the driver's door, usually the passenger door and always the side and rear doors. My backup key works everywhere.

after removing the 3 torx25 screws holding the latching mechanism and releasing all rods, I have to believe it is the outside door handle. None of the plastic parts are broken.
Sprayed all working parts with Kroil.
Key works fine but outside handle still has slop in it but it is returning better than before.
Guess I am going to have to borrow those cantankerous crimper to install the handle again....this time I will use alot of tape around the handle...another long story
