Re: SUBARU BRAT!
Awesome! I had two different '84 GL Wagons back when I was in college. Tough and fun little rigs for sure!

Yep, Buck has the touch, or maybe just too much free time. This thread got me looking around the Southeast for one and you can't find them...........at all. Not for sale, not in person. Anyway, they are neat, and I need to quit shopping for cars, lest the addiction will reemerge.

Re: SUBARU BRAT! "AM I NUTS"
Getting ready to swap out my stock 3.90 rear end for a 3.70 viscous LSD and slap in a 5 speed tranny from a 1987 gl wagon. Also in the process of fabricating a 4inch lift so my bfg's will fit a lot better and so I can crank down my torsion bars back to stock configuration the rear hits darn hard the way its setup now.

Re: SUBARU BRAT!
I actually like the hand grips, especially with my older creaking bones (or after a few beers). Speaking of beers, I say leave the hand grips, and weld on some cup holders and you're golden!
BTW, great idea to make the seats useable outside the Brat, and great idea to use a tire as the base.

Thanks Herb,
I have been in search of a utility bed trailer to convert into a outdoor kitchen that I also could attach an RTT but figure why not make my Toad also my trailer and outdoor kitchen! I have decided to modify my roll bar into a custom bed cage that will have a RTT attached to it/another ARB w/ slide/2 burner partner on a slide more propane and on board water storage. Think 2nd full blown expedition rig!!

Re: SUBARU BRAT!
I like it. I've been wanting a trailer too, but I have an old Jeep which no amount of junk added could make look any worse.
I love the seats, I would leave the handgrips. Too cool to lounge around in Brat jumpseats by the campfire. In fact, I wish I could find a set to sit outside my garage, but I'm pretty sure she would not approve.
