No need to add the sign, one look at the welds on mine and it will be evident.

But, that said, my welds might be ugly, but I haven't had one break yet!

Re: Trailer Project

Beautiful!

(You are way ahead of me. I am still on chapter 2 of the The Procedure Handbook On Arc Welding, pub. James F. Lincoln Arc Welding Foundation... I think I will order this latest project book vol. V (it has 10 trailer projects) or all five of the project books published over the years for $43?

Yes. But might need to buy a new drill bit or two.. I was going to use regular old pressure treated but 1der wouldn't let me, forcing me to buy some lightly used ipe for cheap.

Re: Trailer Project

Herb, we used lots of Ipe in our house remodel, both inside and out. Sharp blades and drill bits are nice. I found it actually is quite easy to work with. It is amazingly strong and has a beautiful tone. Make sure to coat the cut ends with Anchor Seal to prevent checking and splits. We did decks, balcony, vanities and even a shower curb/step. One thing to keep in mind is it is heavy and it is best to use a dust mask when cutting or planing.

Robb's trailer deck should look super sharp. Pressure wash and a maybe a very, very light sanding. When coating, only special ipe compatible coatings should be used as the stuff absorbes nothing. Worst things to use are varnish or oily type coatings. Just do not do it!! Use the good stuff - TWP Is a good one.
