Good news (for the potential buyer) is that it may still be available. This van has always seemed like a fair deal for someone who is looking for a diesel. I am definitely a fan of the transformer.

I am struggling to find RV financing for a used sportsmobile, however I have my eye on this as one of my top 5 should I sort something out.

You probably wont be able to secure traditional RV financing for most Sportsmobiles. Instead, look for specialty car financing or even peer to peer lending sites.

A Home Equity Line of Credit was how we did it.

I took the tune out of it to get it ready for a sale smog (required if I sell it to someone in CA). Once I have someone who commits to buying it I will reinstall the tune after the smog is done. When I bought the van I had to get a little creative to find the funds. No bank would finance it due to the age and mileage. The banks wouldn't accept anything with more than 100K miles (it had 173k when I bought it) and no more than 10 years old.

OK I've been contemplating doing a pop top from Colorado camper Van. I'm in the process of acquiring a new rear end for my van and building out the kitchenette. The difference between my van in this van is that I have a 7.3 regular body and this is a 6.0 bullet proof EB. Can anyone tell me why I would be making a mistake selling mine and buying this instead of spending all the money doing mine? I have a tranferflow tank, heater, winch bumper, light bar, house batteries, killer stereo, convertible sofa bed, 2 captains chairs as an alternate layout, mid top, roof racks, 4" exhaust, basement box, and bushwackers. I may have missed a few things. Seems like this fits the bill better even though I hate black. I would love feedback.
