Anybody have real-life experience installing one of these themselves? I currently have a fiberglass topper on my van, but it's smaller (aka 3" too short for me to be able to stand up completely). I'd be willing to pay the $900 for the ability to stand... but I'm going to take a wild guess that installing it yourself won't be as easy as some internet guides seem to make it.
It's actually not too bad. If it's a reverse flange top then it's really easy. If it's not then it just takes some sanding, cleaning, adhesive and long straps/2x4s. It also helps if you have a lift for test fitting and a couple of friends that enjoy hating you for a day.
I just installed mine. Drove 180 miles to pick it up, wasted a bunch of time at the that’s waiting for help to get it set in top of my van, stalled it down and drove home. Had it screwed on by dark that same day. I took another day to deal up the inside, but it was much easier than I expected.

Looks like it comes with the top 1/16th of the donor... including the sun visors!
Yeah, you'd need a trailer to get it home since it would not ride on your roof neatly and you would not want to take the time to separate the top from the van clip on site. Good luck if you decide to get it!
Side windows are the same way if you buy RV windows. Window frame sandwiches simple hole cut in fiberglass. Recently cut in windows and a MaxxFan on my build. Buy a roll of 3/4" butyl rubber to lay under the flange/screw holes on the fan and the windows.
