It was found in Oakland, CA only two days after it was reported stolen. OPD never called me by my local police department called to close the case. Sat at the impound yard for days. Almost $800 to get it out of the yard.

Everything still intact but some damage and missing personal items.

Yikes, you were robbed TWICE, but at least you got it back.

That's what I thought when I handed over my credit card

Glad you got it back but, yeah, that tow yard fee thing is total BS. Like getting charged to be a victim of a crime.

Why am I not surprised that it was found in Oakland?

Awesome news though!

All Ford van owners in the Bay Area should at least install some type of anti-theft system. I feel the need to install another stage of security now.

It does seem that we hear of a high percentage of stolen vans from the Bay Area, but I wonder if it's because so many folks from there are members here? No matter what, every time I hear one of these stories, I cringe and resolve to use all my security methods every time I park, even if only for a minute. Here in Ketchikan, where there are no roads in or out, I'm still worried. I once left a car here over the winter, and it was immediately taken without my permission by someone I knew and driven for six months without my knowledge. Low life's suck.............

Really good to hear. Having it recovered largely whole and undamaged was most fortunate.

With all of the mods and extra invested in some of these rigs, I wonder how much less than actual replacement cost would come back from a theft claim with the insurance company..

Blame CA Prop 47. Property crime = no real jail time. Druggies high on meth steal cars to do more crime, strip it, or just for a joy ride.
