AZ Desert Rendezvous Feb 22-25 2024

Sharing this great event in hopes of getting a few van folks to show up. We used to have quite a few of us attend but lately it’s only been a couple.

Great time and good people. Can fill up quick so sign up if interested…

We will be there again this time around, along with another member of this forum. We went 2 years ago and had a blast. The MTN Rendezvous in the fall is also a good time.

Where?

The website says "Save the Date: 22-25 February 2024. Vicinity of ???...Camp Coordinates TBD"

Can anyone provide a better idea of the location? I don't need the exact location, but it makes planning and coordinating with other activities tough when all I know is it's in the AZ desert. Get me within a hundred miles and I'll be happy.

Thanks!

That’s interesting they removed the gps coordinates. Thinking they must have originally just copied the thread from last year and maybe that is not where it will be this year? We will have to wait to see where it will be. In years past they had it out near Anza Borrego then moved it to Quartzite the last few years. Now I have no idea at the moment.

My understanding is Dave is working on some permit issues for this size of a group & trying to keep the cost for such a permit reasonable. I also believe he’s getting a better “deal” in AZ as opposed to CA. It’s been in Quartzite a few times, but I think he’s looking for an alternative location somewhere in the Sonoran Desert.

This is part speculation & part 2nd hand info….
