Re: Jackson Hole "Meet and Greet" June 21st thru 23rd

If everything goes as planned I will redeploy form Kuwait back to the states and that would be a great get away trip for some needed R&R.

Put me down as a maybe.

Re: Jackson Hole "Meet and Greet" June 21st thru 23rd

I might be able to join you all too, as I live in Jackson. Shadow is always good but could be tight with more than 3-4 SMBs. The camp spots with the best views tend to be smallish. There are a couple with non-Teton Views that could hold multiple vans. There are two at the summit that are a little less used, fyi. The road and top of Shadow can be a little dicey for 2wd depending on the snow year but it's been driveable pretty early the last few years.

Granite Canyon has some decent spots for a group of vehicles, as does Greys River Road down near Alpine. Both can get crowded on weekends though. No facilities to speak of at any of these spots.

Just to tempt those who didn't know this so beautiful area yet, two panoramic pictures taken at sunrise from Shadow during my last trip in Wyoming...

Aw shoot, y'all are tempting me with pictures now! It'll be a crapshoot for me but hoping maybe we can make it.

This is something I think my wife and I need to come down for. I'd be very interested to see that area!

At least from my visits during late May and early June, times are good during most years. Mild weather and most of the stuff is open with no crowds…at least the times I’ve been there. I’m sure it depends on the snow season.
I’ve stayed at Crystal Creek CG but in the boondock area. There is a small group camp across the road. From what I gather, it can hold several rigs, but those who want to stay where there is a single bathroom they can stay in the main campground.

Ron has been there. What do you think Ron???
That is a good boondock spot in Dave's photo there is also hundreds of other places on that road and its all 2WD'able.
Its all 1st come so show up a week early and have some fun.

Ron

I Would love to have our friend's from the north come.

The wife and I spend as much time in Alberta and BC as we can.

We got married in Banff.
Maybe you can bring me a bag of Tim Horton dark roast!!!

Ron

That could be arranged

Be sure to let me know next time your north, lots of great backroads.

Been around the Bears Tooth and Yellowstone area but have always wanted to see the Teton area closer.

This is 200 yards up river from the boondocking spot in Dave's photo.

I caught at least 30 cut throat that day! Believe it.
