The Ford mustangs and lightnings have the intercooler mounted underneath the supercharger down inside the intake manifold. The heat exchanger for the mustang cobra would easily fit behind the grill on an E series van. But i agree the Vans have an excessive heat issue in the engine compartment. But the system also requires a pump, plus it has its own coolant and reservoir.

Hi Simpesez,
You are 100% right on a accounts. Dreaming is fun, but spent about an hour with our local Smog Referee, Cali, has new testing equipment which sends data directly to Sacramento. They do not allow engine exchanges with out the donner vehicle being the same max weight load capacity. No less or no more.
I spoke with John, at Quad Van, he suggested buy a wrecked 7.3 gas with the 10 speed transmission, do the swap. Referee say's good luck he recommend installing my old body on the new van. John, shared use all the components from the wrecked on my van. Including dash cluster, ref, said again if the max weight capacity does not match they will not pass it. Did the cat back exhaust, 411's and going for the tuner. Reason still looking for b upgraded exhaust manifolds. Thank you for all your input.
P.S. November, makes two years on this build, I have taken everyone's best advice and made the best possible choices and improvements, so many things to many to list, started with the pour 15 on the floor. Just about finished with the Sanpele'e African Mahogany, interior. Will shar pictures soon. Joe
