Re: Brake Upgrade for Quigley 4X4

Minor update, Tiger @ Quigley just received the Stoptech rotors to machine and said they look like the correct application and that they look "really nice".

Parts I referenced above worked perfect. Rich at San Juan Ford machined the rotors for me. They also installed the rotors and pads. They can also order the parts for you.

Re: Brake Upgrade for Quigley 4X4

Just gonna say that the SSBC 8 piston upgrade was worth the money. I am going to put some of the slotted and drilled rotors and big bite pads on the rear too.

This thread is about brake upgrades for Quigleys. The van in your picture isn't a Quigley.
There are far fewer choices for what will actually fit a Quigley, which is what this thread is about.

Well I suppose it depends on what you call a quigley. My van never came with the cool Quigley 4x4 logo or the big 4x4 decal on the side. I was never really sure why that was but it didn't bother me much. I am pretty sure that it is a Quigley since I have called them for parts using the VIN, and it has all the Quigley Instructions and little things on the interior lights etc...

I can butt out of the thread though ...

Re: Brake Upgrade for Quigley 4X4

I think ANZAC's referring to the front leaf springs on your van, which Quigleys don't have. Have you had modifications done to your 4x4 system?

EDIT: I recall you had Chris at UJOR deQuiglify your van, which would allow completely different brake upgrades compared to a stock Quigley.

Cheers,
Brent

Re: Brake Upgrade for Quigley 4X4

The SSBC Rotors are identical in size to the Rotors that I pulled off and the 8 Piston Calipers although slightly thicker have an identical mount and bolt placement, again I could be wrong - Chris would be able to verify for sure being that he is the master of the discussion. I would think that if the SSBC route was an option it would be worth checking out because I am very happy with it.

Perhaps Anzac has already investigated the SSBC options and knows they will not work...

Again I'll butt outski

I just saw the leaf springs and assumed it was not a Quigley.... no need to butt out.

Re: Brake Upgrade for Quigley 4X4

Update: brakes are being installed today, hope it goes ok. I wound up short of time so I'm having a good off road place I know do the work.

For reference I also had to call Quigley about front calipers and hoses. Here are some numbers they gave me:

Caliper LH front Bendix 55199
Caliper RH front Bendix 55200

Hose RH front Raybestos BH38265
Hose LH front Raybestos BH38266

Hose LH front Bendix 77419
Hose RH front Bendix 77420

Again, YMMV as this is specific to my 2002 Quigley, always check your application with Joyce or Tiger.
And have your VIN number handy.

Re: Brake Upgrade for Quigley 4X4

So, confirmed those front rotor and pad part numbers fit my van just fine. New brakes are nice, now need to replace the park brake cables (rusty). Will report back when I have a few more miles on them.
