Closing the gap: Sliding door extension

Hello everyone,

Performed a search on this forum but didn't see any relevant threads, so figured I'd start a new one! We had a sliding door extender installed on our van, which involves cutting into the sliding door sheet metal a bit (see this video if you are curious). A side effect of this is that you can now see daylight through the rear seam of the sliding door if you look rearward at just the right angle. I'd like to fill this gap with something, for aesthetics, dust mitigation, wind noise, etc.

I'm thinking of the black plastic bristles one often sees on CNC gantrys and the like. I believe the correct term is a "strip brush?" Something like this.

However, I'm wondering if there is perhaps a more appropriate product to use that I'm not thinking of? I'll probably get some of the strip brush material ordered up to try and cobble something together in the mean time.

I've tried a couple different things and neoprene sheet with a slit in it worked pretty good. no pics though...it was years ago and I can't even remember whose van it was that I did that on.

Thanks MG that's a great idea! I'll give that a shot first since it seems slightly easier/cleaner to implement. Will update with results here.
