Those ^^^ do blend in well even when black as they arrive from Auto Meter.

Like your partially obscured view of your pyro my oil pressure needle is visible above 50 PSI with the visor down. Fortunately its not that often I have to use it so this overhead pod works out very well for me.

Semi related questions
1. Do all or most EGT gauges use the same K type thermocoupler?

2. What is involved to get access to tap the manifold to install the sensor? I cant seem to remember if the manifold is buried or not when the dog house is off.

My van is getting the motor replaced and I was thinking about having them install a sensor while its all apart but I cant seem to make up my mind so im just trying to figure out how much harder it would be to do after the fact.

Not sure about which thermocouples are used, yet on the 7.3, it was an easy drill from underneath.

As Fool129 said, easy to do a motor installed. Drill from under at cyl 8. You could certainly drill and tap the exhaust manifold while out, but I would wait to install the probe until after the motor was all back together. Just make sure you can easily access the drill point.

Gauges - Hewitt are the least expensive and are aircraft rated. 0 to 1500 or 1600 max so you have resolution. Wanna get super fancy - Hewitt makes a double probs EGT so you could have a probe on each bank, just a big hard to read.. I suggest no more than 0 to 30 on boost gauge,

@1der and @allenl where did you guys mount your Scanguage? Sounds like an ideal setup!
Is anyone running Glowshift gauges? Or should I avoid them?
Looks like Hewitt may be the better option, thanks for the suggestion 1der.
