PV Panel Wiring
On our last trip I started hearing a banging noise on top of the penthouse where the solar panel is mounted. Upon inspection, the wire loom had become detached to what ever was holding it in place. The loom was slapping against the roof. It turns out that all that was holding it in place was a sticky adhesive pad that is zip-tied to the loom. The adhesive must have worn out over the last 2.5 years. Without taking the panel off, I was able to apply contact cement to the pad and the bottom of the panel. Hopefully it will last as long as the original installation. Although I didn't do it, removing the solar panel isn't easy, or I should say reinstalling it wouldn't be real easy without compromising the weather seal between the brackets and the roof. There is no way in the world you can get access to (at least on mine) the bolts that go through the side of the panels into the bracket without first removing the brackets from the roof.
