A friend gave me some good advice. Letting go of things allows space for new things to come in. Hope your new rig will be all you hope it will be.

Thanks guys. Don't worry, I'm way too addicted to these things to go away.

Agree with CTB. Scotty, you're a source of technical and social enlightenment for all of us. Plus, we need you to represent the few of us East Coasters on this forum.

Spent a couple hours this evening making an LED spot light to go over our new dinette table. Put one coat of varnish on the spot light wood trim. One more tomorrow morning then will wire it in tomorrow pm.

Not sure which fridge you have but there are latch pieces that do this rather well

Worked on getting the van ready a trip tomorrow. When I test ran the furnace it would not light, held out on a safety. Looked down the exhaust pipe and saw a mud dauber nest. Once that was dug out and vacuumed out the furnace worked fine. Need to get some wire mesh to put over the exhaust port.

Ha, I had the same problem with my furnace as well. Mud daubers. Who knew?

I built a new battery tray. Mine was "modified" when the Aluminess nerf bars were installed, it was shortenend and one bracket welded to the tray. I took the house battery out to replace it on Friday. It was a hassle. I do not want to have to remove all of the bracketry each time I need to remove the battery. Since the battery is now out for replacement, I thought this is a good time to make that right.

So, the new tray is just like the original SMB issued but, since the brackets are now closer together, it is a little narrower. Enough room for the battery, but less space on the ends. This made it tough to reach the nuts that mount the tray to the brackets, so I welded nuts to the inside of the tray. This allows the tray and battery to be jacked up into place, then bolts threaded from the outside into the nuts held captive in the tray. Just one 5/8" wrench is now needed to install or remove the battery tray.

Note to self...
In the future, remember to wear leather work boots whenever the mig welder is in use.
