I'd stick with the single 12v models (some have a couple ports like those for my Go-Pro cameras). They just drop the voltage and you don't need to run an inverter unless 120vAC is needed. My ToughBook has a dock that is wired into 12vDC but sometimes I use it as a DVD player off the dock. I was surprised how much those little power port inverters actually pull. I bought a high quality 12v adaptor for my Toughbook and it uses less that the micro inverter plus I don't have to worry about a crappy modified sinewave.
