My apologies if I was unclear. From the posts on this thread I understand that the fade issue with HID lamps is the nature of the beast. Scott has done an admirable job of aggregating existing tech to produce an excellent product that is ridiculously superior to Ford OEM. Thank you for the suggestion. I will follow it up to replace my dinosaur designed Hellas. I may have been born shortly after the invention of the candle but I recognise its limitations.

Ha! I never undervalue the significance of ‘tools’ the senior population embraced early in life - even now when the electricity goes down, those candles become the norm ...for everyone. Until a couple years ago, I still had the skateboard I made (58 years earlier) using the steel wheels off my roller skates.
