Mike,

thanks so much for the photos!

Monkeyboy, I have some pics of what I imagine to be your Sprinter (it, too, was beautiful). I'll try and get them off the camera today and off to you now that I have an internet connection - sorry for the wait. They're not specific pics - my wife and I shot what we could while lugging two squirming children through the factory in a hurry! I pictured a leisurely walk through there, checking everything out, but didn't work out that way

Cheers,
Mike.

PS - edited to note that the hurry was in no part due to SMB folks, who were all amazingly kind and helpful!! They encouraged us to dally and take photos, but I was simply overwhelmed Later we had plenty of time to check out their display models (separate from the in-process factory floor) and loved the chance to climb in, over, and around.

Re: SMB West Factory Visits

I will be at SMBW Friday getting the orientation/check out on my Sprinter.

Time permitting, I am willing to take pix of anything specific that anyone may be interested in... shoot me a note with details of what you may want to see.

It will take me a few days to get them uploaded/sent out as I have to drive the new rig back to CO. woohoo!

cheers.

After the pleasure of meeting (and sizing up) trailsurfer, I will suggest either arm or thumb wrestling for that privilege!

Re: SMB West Factory Visits

It is official. Monkeyboy and I are the proud owners of Sportsmobiles! We both went through orientation today on our respective Vans. We meet up again in the morning in Reno to take "official" delivery of our new babies. Then Monkeyboy and I are going to drive the loneliest highway and camp in the middle of nowhere Nevada tomorrow night.

We will post pictures soon of the trip and the new rides.

Re: SMB West Factory Visits

Hi, Congratulations to all of you on getting your Sportsmobiles.

I just got our Sportsmobile Van in July. My DH and I picked it up in Reno too. You may have seen it if you were there during the end of May, that's when I was working on buying it. We have a new 2008 Silver Ford RB 350 Diesel Quigley 4x4 Sportsmobile Van. Jeff, Kim, "behind the scenes" people at Sportsmobile West, and the people at Towne Ford did a great job of working with us so we could get it, even though we didn't set foot in California ... had to save as much as possible to pay for it and the taxes. I just hope the IRS doesn't change its mind about the 2009 tax deduction.

It's thrilling to finally have a piece of our dream but since we could only afford minimal additions I'll be "camping" in it until we save up for the conversions. DH will wait for the conversions because he's had enough of "camping". Good luck to all of you still waiting!

Re: SMB West Factory Visits

Bill
I just may see you there. My green RB 4X4 is supposed to be done sometime around that date. The case work is in and they are finishing up all the little details. From the pictures that I saw today, there looks like another week of work to be done. After going over everything and writing the check at SMB, I will be taking delivery in Reno also.
