Re: Hi-Lift Jacks

Hi-lift has a new variation called the First Responder. It's geared for fire rescue and has some cool features. Check out the vid because it's good and shows some cool ways to use it or your stock Hi-lift. I have no idea where to buy one or what it may cost but here is the video:

Re: Hi-Lift Jacks

Mine is rated for 7000lbs but sounds like the rescue version is rated for lighter loads?

Re: Hi-Lift Jacks

Dave,
Glad you started this thread. I have been keeping my 48" hi lift in the rear compartment (below the closet), however it takes up too much room. Your decision to put it on the front bumper is a good one...could always be painted to the bumper color so it doesn't contrast as much. I will be contacting Pete at SMB as well to see if those red brackets come in black.

Re: Hi-Lift Jacks

They do come in black (sprayed black) if that's what you want. The handle keeper comes in black. I did purchase the gray HD hi-lift. Fits well on the bumper like Greggs. I keep it sprayed with Fluid Film (as well as the bumper) and It looks OK so far. Each owner likes where theirs are mounted... I like mine in its location for me.

Re: Hi-Lift Jacks

Here is how I mounted my 60" Hi-Lift Jack on my front Aluminess bumper. I don't know yet whether I like it there, or want to remount it above the license plate on the bumper like others have done. I like that it doesn't block my lights or my view. I can't see it from inside the van. It's also easy to get on and off because I can just lift it on instead of having to hold it in place while screwing the handles down. I'm interested in feedback.

Mac,

Where's your lock to keep me from borrowing the jack?

Re: Hi-Lift Jacks

I just uploaded three snap shot of the Yakima Hi Lift Brackets mounted to the 2007 Aluminess
Bumper . One of the Shots shows the Lock Tab that Dave referred to earlier in the Post .

I've got it locked with the cable and a key lock that wrap around the bumper bar. Probably not as secure as the Yakima mount. I'm still considering changing to that. Where would I buy that mount?
