Did you tell TF your existing TF tank was rusted out or just ask to buy a new one?
Once I told them my existing tank was rusty (2002) they were very apologetic, made a new tank and installed it (I drove there). The price was very good.
They said the newer tanks are made with a better rust proofing process. It felt like they were apologetic that the old tank was rusted out.

Re: 46 Transfer Flow Tank availability?
Oh yeah, I talked to them 2 or 3 times. They didn't really seem interested in building me a custom one and said they mostly do runs of certain tanks and there wasn't much demand for a one-off. He put together a price and it was going to be nearly the price of a new main tank.
How long ago was this that you had them redo yours?

2012 ish I think. They didn't think of it as custom. He said they had all the drawings and just had to fit it in with their production scheduling. I was patient, it took a few months.

Wow. Well, thanks for the info. They couple folks I talked to were really nice and helpful, but they didn't offer me a freebie by any stretch, and then there's the fact that I'm in Tennessee. Maybe if I walked in the door it would've been different. I'm done now though. My 45 gallon Aerotank is plenty so I'm swapping my rear TF tank for underfloor storage.
Thanks

Yeah for whatever reason showing up in person was one of the conditions. Maybe to verify there was an existing tank? Or so they could do the work. Anyway, it wasn't free but it was a great deal.

Chris, what capacity are you getting and any CARB issues?

Sorry for the delay. I just had to re calculate our tanks and we're at a "useable" capacity of 35.5. No carb issues since everything swaps right over. We have inserts machined for the vents/etc.

Re: 46 Transfer Flow Tank availability?
SMB said no more TF's for Diesel (I'm looking for for options for mine right now).
I'll look into Aerotank since I want high capacity. I do like the ease of install so considering the UJ version as well.

Re: 46 Transfer Flow Tank availability?
Literally, right now sitting at Aerotanks getting a new 45 Gal Diesel 4wd compatible tank installed by Jake and Co. Our new to us 2002 7.3 Van goes to Agile tomorrow for the TTB install, tank already having been installed.
Great guys, nice work, very helpful here at Aerotanks, will have more pics later

Re: 46 Transfer Flow Tank availability?
The Ujoint tank is an easy swap. Glad to know the usable gallons. Thanks Chris! Barry

Re: 46 Transfer Flow Tank availability?
1der,
How muck lower does the tank sit then the original? I am thinking of getting new tank and want to make sure it does not impact clearance. I would like to increase capacity over the cut tank. I have a 2003 7.3 Quigley, so Ujoint's will not work for me so it seems Aerotank is the only game in town.
