Let it blow?

I’ve got a 2005 e350 eb passenger and I’m working on a floor and some wheel well cabinets. Starting to pull out the rear blower now. Wondering if anyone has found value in keeping the rear blower… is it standard to remove.

Thanks!

I've heard that it is beneficial to keep the rear blower for better cooling during the summer months.

I believe lots of the SMB builds keep the rear blower and re-route the ducting into the cabinetry etc, since the center roof ducting is often blocked off when installing a roof vent.

Keep it. And many days you will be VERY happy you did.

You can duct the floor heater vents under the cabinets by creating a slightly raised cabinet lowest shelf with the heat coming out of the toe kick.

If you are removing the plastic trim below the windows you will need to keep part of it as it has the excellent ducting for the heat to reach the floor. At least keep the part that transitions from the blower down to the rear most floor vent for the heater. Then create a 1" tall space below the cabinet for the heat to reach the cabin.

Your AC duct up the D-pillar to the ceiling - incorporate that into a cabinet or leave the trim.
