I can't provide specific shops other than what other members have provided and are shown on this map = https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?m...ty&usp=sharing

Maybe Weldtec? = 886 Gable Way El Cajon

Or one of these shops? https://www.yelp.com/search?find_des...an+Diego%2C+CA
https://www.google.com/search?q=4x4+...896054415],10]

Maybe load the bumpers and drive to the north?
Hope this helps??

I left a message with Weldtec last night. Agile said Dec 1st was the first day they had available. Yelp/Google lists a lot of places, I'm just not comfortable giving this install to a shop that mostly does muffler repair.

I'm in SD for 24 hours, then headed to Baja. Can't head north or drag the bumpers across the border.

Do you need a shop, or just an extra pair of hands, a floor jack, some hand tools and a driveway?

Maybe you can offer the standard automotive-helper payment of beer to entice someone in SoCal to help you install it.

Joe from NTG racing is trying to fit me in right now, which is perfect, they are literally next door to Aluminess.

Nothing confirmed yet. Joe at NTG Racing and WeldTec have both told me "maybe".

Yeah I don't get it -- seems they have wiggle room for out of town work.

Pretty wack of aluminess -- I could see it if you bought like a single rear tire carrier - but if you're putting down 8 large, that's pretty lame.

Could try 4WheelParts or any off-road shop or really any mechanic shop that is worth a damn. It isn't that hard to mount bumpers... it is honestly something I would trust to basically anyone who isn't a complete hack-job.

Perhaps there is more to it -- but if it takes Aluminess 3 hours -- I expect it to take 4-5 hours for someone without the experience.

That stinks and I'm sure a big bummer for you. Let me know if you need a place to drop your stuff while you're in Baja. I'll be picking up my van from Weldtec tomorrow afternoon and I'm about 30 minutes from them and 40 minutes from the border.

Also, big shout out to Weldtec/Jeremy... I stopped by there just to pick up a steering stabilizer today. Then they said they could squeeze in the install while I was there. And then, when they realized that their bracket wouldn't work with my otherwise stock van due to it having a sway bar, they offered to keep my van overnight and install a full lift kit tomorrow. Drained my wallet more than expected but never thought I'd get a whole new suspension in about 30 hours from even discussing it.

Might be worth it to take a trip to Harbor Freight and buy some tools and install it yourself if a shop cant fit you in.

Maybe check craigslist in SD to see if there is a mobile mechanic or something that can meet you at Aluminess and install it in their parking lot.
