It breaks down into 3 pieces in about 10 seconds but what I usually do is just put the table right behind the seatback, still in upright position. I'll get a pic of this soon. The slider on these vans is so big the table doesn't really interfere with door access at all.

Great build thread and your heater install reminded me there is another less expensive option besides Espar. That lead me to Google and I immediately came across the link below.
https://www.sailmagazine.com/cruisin...ads-to-tragedy
Prior to reading that, I was a little concerned about your exhaust pipe exiting directly under the van and wondered if that might cause any problems. I always thought diesel was not prone to producing carbon monoxide, but aparently that's not so. Carbon monoxide is bad stuff, so be extra carefull. Anyway, I'm loving the build and considering adding a diesel fired heater to my rig. I have another friend who has one and finds that despite relocating it a couple times, the thermostat has trouble keeping a steady temp inside. How well does yours regulate the temp?
My other comment is about the venting of your battery boxes. Since Hydrogen is lighter than air, the vent should be at the top of the box, not the bottom. Anyway, loving the build, I'm looking forward to more photos.

Thanks for sharing. That story was recently discussed on the Transit forum as well. I’m not worried. They had an issue with the intake i think. These things are in thousands of boats and trucks all over the world. I check everything underneath my van every time it’s on the lift, which is every week or two.
This one regulates temp better than any furnace I’ve ever had. The thermostat is almost directly above the unit.
Yeah, I haven’t crossed the bridge on how I’ll seal those boxes yet. Hopefully I’ll get time to build the rear cabinets soon.

Scotty, you will need to start selling those table plates for the guys that don't have the ability to make one.
Yes, Transit front end is ugly and the Aluminess bumper makes it even uglier IMO. I was not a fan of the new Econoline front end and still aren't even tho I has one.
Maybe a Transit someday after MG gets his 4x4 out in the real world.

Thanks, please take the poll I started over at the Transit forum. If it grows as I hope I will definitely be passing it on to Aluminess.

Just read this build thread -- wonderful as always -- and am now rethinking my fridge choice (chest vs front loader) and drooling over the diesel heater. The cold water sink and stealth graywater drain would work for my Transit as well.
Thanks, Eric!

Thanks. Stay tuned for a rather large update. Cabinet build is almost complete.

This is typically the point where 86 tells us he's selling his van.
