What is the best way to sell a Homemade SMB?

Listing its on expedition portal is a good idea. List it here out west on Craigslist, OfferUp, etc. the forum is a good place too. Include picture and text. Describe the van itself, the build out and lastly the accessories. Many people have their own gear and won’t want yours.

I would say $15k for the van and $15k for the build out. You don’t have any information about the van itself but I’m assuming low mileage. Though it’s at least a 2007 and older. If it’s high mileage or a 4.6 then $8k for the van.

This is not a knock on your work. However, there’s a very clean fully built 2wd sportsmobile for sale on here for $35k. I would pay $5k more for a complete build by a company and a pop top in a heartbeat.

Also, remember that anyone buying this has to be able to pay cash. A person with $50-60k in cash is likely used to having nice things and will want something that looks nice, feels nice and has good resale.

Again, this is not a knock on your skill or workmanship. The only vans I’ve ever seen sell in the range you are talking about that are homebrews are all 4x4 with bumpers and a yacht interior built by a yacht builder.

Good info by Gramps above. ^^^ Having thought about it for a couple days I think $25k is probably what you can expect to get out of it. Personally I would list for 30 and wait....

Thanks

Hey guys,

Thank you for all the feedback.
It really helped.

Hope to be listing it soon.
I will probably do ebay so I can get some national exposure.
I will post the link in the forums when I list it.

Thanks again.

One of the awesome Forum member has gotten me addicted to a site where, you could roll the dice and no reserve auction it or put a reserve on it etc...it usually produces good sales (I think top dollar b/c of the bidding aspect). here's a link...Ive seen two Sportsmobiles on it in the last 6 months. One a Transit, one an old Ford. Here's a link: https://bringatrailer.com
