+2 here for "Go ahead, cook inside the van!"
Last summer, I think on a particularly cold evening, I had to be arm-wrestled into letting someone cook a curry dish on the stove inside the van. But I fought it all the way.....was convinced that the well-preserved original SMB aqua-teal vintage 1990's upholstery would afterward-and-forever smell of a spice bazaar in Delhi....
Turns out I was wrong!
With the penthouse roof up (and a good selection of screen windows opened up), the curry mojo lofts outside and away on the breeze. No residual "curry-air-freshener-scent" whatsoever.
Van still smells like.......20-year-old camper-van
And man, there really is no substitute for firing up a pot of coffee (or tea) on the in-the-van stove, first thing, on a chilly morning. Can a van possibly be more cozy? I think not.
