I have followed this thread for some time somewhat perplexed as I have never seen the sort of temps that you guys talk about despite pulling a 10,000 # trailer in the middle of TX Summers. I admit I am not pulling 6% grade hills regularly (one or two though) and I top out at 200 with a '00 PSD 7.3. I do not have Aluminess bumper and unlike the newer E series, my trannie cooler is mounted front and center in the air stream.
I have also insulated the floor (and the dog house) and wrapped the exhaust which has helped as well.. Have yet to insulate the trannie oil lines but will do that based on what I have read here.

In my own experience, the addition of the new aluminess front bumper was the key variable. There was a substantial increase in avg. and peak tranny temps.
Your setup seems to be working quite well. I do light towing, but nothing in the 10k pound range.

It doesn't look like it can hurt, unlike the bumper.
How is the air ducted up to the radiator? It looks like the scoop is flat on the bottom to a square edge and has to find its own way up to the radiator. I would have preferred to see a scoop the angled up to the bottom of the radiator, directing the air to the place you want it to go.

Re: Transmission Temperature
Mike ,
Go to page 16 in my Gallery , several different angles of the Air Scoop except for the Diamond Plate and Screen the same as mine . I just reconfigured mine by knocking down the lower front lip and added some additional holes .

Re: Transmission Temperature
It depends on what vehicle you have. And the SGII manual will explain how to program it for that specific vehicle.

Re: Transmission Temperature
I have an 09 E350 psd. I tried adding the "x gauge" for TFT as it is explained in the SG manual but when I add it to the gauges it shows TFT but no reading.
Has something changed with the 09 that one of the codes is different or maybe it just wont read the 09.
By the way passed 3 other sportsmobiles this week while driving from Reno to Oregon. green one north of Reno, tan one around Crescent City, and a white one on 101 south of Tillamook. All look sharp on the road.

Re: Transmission Temperature
I believe the newer models use the CAN interface, the instruction are different for CAN vs non-CAN.
