Re: Warning to 6.0 PSD Owners with Amsoil System
Once learning of the oil line installation issue, I immediately changed my oil (completely) as well as changed both the primary and bypass filters. After verifying my oil lines were not installed correctly, I then corrected that issue as well. Anyway, here are the results of my oil sample (taken at 9,000 miles on this oil change; 18,500 total miles on the van).
Cheers,

Re: Warning to 6.0 PSD Owners with Amsoil System
I would agree that those results indicated a full oil change. (Silicon, Iron, Vis and TBN especially). Do you think that you had any reverse filtering. The new anti-drain valves were really effective in almost eliminating filter flow on my 5000 miles of use. If you off road check your air filter while you are at it. My previous high silicon might have been related that.

Iron should not be that high after 18K miles. I would sample it again at the next change and see what it is. I've seen very few iron numbers that high on new engines, its normal to be elevated a little till break in is over. Normal should be <15ppm with 9K on the oil.

Twolost,
Your oil analysis indicates you are using SAE 30W oil. Is that right? I think most everyone using Amsoil are using the Synthetic Heavy-Duty Diesel & Marine Motor Oil SAE 15W-40. Probably won't, but I don't know if this would skew any of the data or not.

Its been my experience that the 6.0L sheers the oil fast. The only thing I have seen sand up to it is the Amsoil HDD 5W-30 Heavy Duty Diesel oil.

My iron was 31 at 17K miles, 24 at 26K miles and now 15 at 33K miles. Last is with 5k on oil others with 7.5K.

Re: Warning to 6.0 PSD Owners with Amsoil System
My iron was 23 and silicon was 9 @ 42K if I remember correctly. The sample sheet is in my album.

Re: Warning to 6.0 PSD Owners with Amsoil System
The Blackstone universal average for iron is 21. Also I am convinced I got almost no filtering on this 5000 mile sample. That is with the reversed lines and the redesigned filters with an effective backflow preventer.

Re: Warning to 6.0 PSD Owners with Amsoil System
I just completed the oil line swap and restrictor removal myself today. It was really straight forward, although it was also pretty awkward getting to the oil lines to remove them. I took a couple pictures of the Amsoil full flow restrictor and the chamber it sits in. I'm not sure if it will be helpful to anyone else, but I always like to see this kind of thing before I get started on a project.
Here is a picture of the full flow mount along with the chamber that the restrictor would sit in. Notice that the bolt to the left (on the vertical surface) has been removed in order to remove the restrictor.
Here is the restrictor removed from the full flow chamber.
