Air Conditioning
Hi,
Has anyone used/know much about these two air conditioners (not really AC's but miniature ways to cool down our camper)?

We really do not want a traditional AC because of the size, cost, and having to use a generator.

I have been keeping an eye on that zero breeze. could be very useful for us van dwellers. It's a shame there doesnt exist something like that, that is a stripped down version that plugs straight into 12v, no bluetooth/phone charger/flash light extras.

That Zero Breeze does look pretty cool and handy for a hot day in a van.

I wish there was more info on the Zero Breeze. I'm still thinking it's a water cooler but if it isn't, that would be a great little unit provided the battery can last all night long.

If you scroll about a third of the way down their Kickstarter page, they say, "The Zero Breeze is effective, lightweight and easy to use. We use a rotary compressor making Zero Breeze efficient and portable allowing you to stay cool anywhere, anytime. Similar products in the market don’t have a real air conditioning function. A majority just add water or ice into their device to create the cooling effect."
It comes with an exhaust tube for the heat it generates and a drain tube for condensation, so I'm pretty sure it's a true A/C and not a water cooler.
The battery lasts 5 hours at low output and they give you the option to buy a second one.
Sounds like a pretty cool unit. Doh. No pun intended.

I agree with you on the no extras part.
The last question on their FAQ page mentions "Aviation connectors" that make me think 12v is possible.
It can definitely plug into an inverter and run off house batteries if you're set up that way.

Maybe similar to a fridge compressor? I still would want to see it in action. I'd like to get some stats on its power profile (wattage/power reserves/battery charge times), & BTU's.
For me, it would be a portable that I'd use in the Penthouse and if I could get a 70 degree breeze blowing out of it when it's a 100* outside, I'd be very interested.

The video is pretty informative, but it's also filled with people partying on boats, beaches and lots of other outdoor places where you would NEVER USE AN AIR CONDITIONER. Stupid, just show the thing where it's going to get used, tent, RV, dorm room or office.
Anyway, typical modern marketing. If it does what it sells they'll sell a million, and at least one to me.

Agreed. Marketing to millennials. I mean why the hell else would it have all that extra crap on it? It's an air conditioner, not a media center. But they're suckers for gadgets and gimmicks. When will people learn just because you can doesn't mean you should.
