That gives more clues. It also looks as though the lower half of that "foot" might be lifting from the surface behind it.

Brent, you sure that is not rallypanam's or daveb's van? They are the one's who drive in a manner to do that!

Still looks something wedged in the foot well to force the door outwards? I cannot believe you are pulling such g-forces laterally to generate a crack like that. Other thought, more likely, would be door striker/latch adjustments are too tight at bottom.

haywoodphotomaccom It's possible that the bracket was cracked and you never noticed. I enlarged the helicopter photo you posted earlier and the cracked bracket is visible . It will probably be more evident in your original photo. (higher resolution)

And apparently we all have way too much free time on our hands to always be posting here!

I found some other earlier pictures and the inside crack is there.....

The outside one is definatley new though. I'll be out at the meet up this weekend and will have plenty of time to ponder this with the group. We may even make up some cool stories about it's origin....

Interesting to hear what you find. The crack monster is back on my van as well and I have to take her in again.

I call it the "Rattle Can"....I am constantly on the noise abatement war path....

Drives my wife crazy. I have her drive occasionally so I can walk around and find the newest noise....

Good times..
