Replacement Thermostat for Starcool

My StarCool in my '93 SMB thankfully blows ice cold air. The T-stat however is literally missing the lever to the switch to go between heat and AC. Now there is no factory heat function, I don't know if SMB removed this to keep people from flipping it the wrong way and thinking StarCool wasn't working or if it is broken.

So my question is, is this normal and since the Thermostat works otherwise should it be replaced? If it should be replaced what should I replace it with?
