Ambulance power cable

Hi all,

New to the forum. I bought an ambulance to convert to an RV. Just got it and getting started. Joined because I can't figure out a cable on the ambulance and I need some help. It is a Kussmaul auto disconnect but I can't find a cable with this connector any where. The cable serves to charge the batteries in the ambulance.

Thanks in advance

This should be a 20 amp Commercial. It is hard for me to see how tall the very center round thing is.

Here is a search under images that can get you to the right female end:

You will likely have to make up your own cable. Personally, I would strongly consider changing out the receptacle on the rig to a more common fitting, perhaps an RV 30 amp if the wiring can handle that much current.

I agree, I’d swap that out if possible, highly recommend as long as you’re at it to look at Smartplug 30 amp options, a much better, and safer, RV plug option. I swapped our plugs on our rig over and on the travel camper(since sold). They have full kits with the cord as well since your missing that, as well as several color options on the receptacle. Available on Amazon too

I second this opinion.

You might keep it, those outlets are pretty cool and common on emergency vehicles, when you start the engine, that center pin kicks out the plug automatically. Not something that an RV usually needs, but could be fun at the RV park.

This plug should fit : https://www.homedepot.com/p/Leviton-...-00Y/309612384

The outlets are kinda expensive, https://powerwerx.com/blue-sea-78510...t-20a-no-cover. If you do replace it, I'd be interested in the outlet for 'research purposes'

At least the cover plates are affordable:

If I didn't need 30A, I'd keep it and make up my own cord. The auto-disconnect feature may save you from some damage someday.
