To install it you need the crossmember that is added to support the transfer case. Or you could fab up a crossmember for use in a 2wd. T-F lists the tanks as fitting up to 2003, but they fit later model vans. Probably some emissions requirement or testing they don't want to deal with.
Before mounting the tank, you reuse your fuel pump/sending unit in the T-F tank. It is a good idea to shorten the vent tube or to make an alternate tank vent or you will spend much time trying to fill the last 8-10 gallons.

Two summers ago I bought the 46Gallon "Gas" Transferflow Quigley version and we put it in ourselves.

In our case we had to imprevise a bit with the fuel pumps. We made it work in a 96' Classic Sportsmobile.
So far so good.
