Ford came out with a 7.3 gas motor, going to be my next choice, 450 HP detuned model for E series 350 HP.
5Star tuning is a company that does semi custom tunes for vehicles. They offer tunes for the 5.4 2v that improves shift points and throttle response. Total added HP is very minimal but supposedly it makes the van drive much better.

I saw that gas 7.3! Very cool! I just replaced the 5.4 in this van last year so hopefully it is a long time before I have to worry again.

4.10s will really wake up that 5.4. 5 star tune will improve the drivability and a free flowing exhaust won't hurt either.
What is your actual tire size (not the 32")?

I have to double check but I think I have 235/85r16s which are 31.7" tall with 3.73s.

All for not though as I will be putting the MG conversion on the gas van and most likely using 285/75r17s (I think....whatever the metric equivalent to 34" is). In that case, I would regear my new axles to 4.56s.

In that case the 4.56s would be more appropriate. 285/75r17s are 33.8" diameter.

Thanks for the offer but I will need 8x170 since I will be using truck axles for the conversion.

Yeah, it would be nice to tow this camper but it would be a handful with either van and I don't think I would enjoy it.

Thanks for the offer but we are trying to keep it super small. No kids and no plans for them so we like small houses (not the tiny ones though! Lol).
