That's always the hope--I'm of the same mind traveling a mere 130 miles one way occasionally. Even then I'm on freeways and almost never more than 15-20 miles from a service facility.

I'm always thinking about how not to get stuck out somewhere, as we have been a few times. We had an under charging Alternator leave us stranded with a dead batteries out in the woods; luckily someone drove by. Another time, we started dumping tranny fluid up on a steep mountain road, yet was able to crawl back down the mountain to the main road and got AAA'd. Just recently, the dual tank switch fried and left us in the aux tank with no gauge. Didn't get stuck, that time, yet was worried I might, so didn't go far off the main drag that trip.
