Thanks! -Ray

Hard to say. The one I bought specifically said '00 to
'04 E-Series on the box, but maybe that's only because
the remote was made in '04. There are sellers on Ebay
selling what look like older Ford remote keypads saying
other year ranges, like '98 - '07 and sometimes
- '08, so maybe they all will work.

If you find a cheap one, it might be worth taking the risk to
just buy it.

One test that you might try now is to see if the
programming sequence is the same on your '08 Ford van
as it is on my '04. The wireless keypad I bought said
to program the van's computer by turning the key from
OFF to ON quickly 8 times in a row (don't start the
engine), leaving it in the ON position afterwards. At
this point, the van will indicate it's ready to begin
programming by locking and unlocking all the doors.

How does this work if you have an alarm? I have the one that SMB installed (I think it is Avital, a Directed Electronics brand).

Can the keypad arm/disarm the alarm?

As far as I can tell, the keypad works like any other Ford remote,
except that you have to enter a passcode first (and that it can be
stuck to your van). If the stock Ford remote happens to work with
your alarm, then I'd bet this would too.

Yeah my stock remote still works with the van, but doesn't disarm or arm the alarm, which is the aftermarket Avatal or whatever.

Thanks Geoff for all of the info. I did e-mail the vendor for the keyless-wireless entry pad regarding the 08 model E-series. They finally got back to me today and stated that it is compatible as long as the van has the keyless entry option. Here is the link for anyone with an 08:

P.S. It's on sale!

Geoff,

Digging up this thread back from the past. Does the keyless entry work well from the rear door location? I'm afraid I'll lock my keys in the van one of these days.

Re: Secrets?

Herb,

It should work on rear door. It acts like another keyless remote, only instead of an unlock button, you must enter the correct code.

Looks like it works on most any Ford product 2004 and up with keyless entry. MSRP $85, Tousley $65

What is Tousley? I am interested in this as well and looking for a place to buy one and have it installed. Suggestions welcome.

Re: Secrets?

Tousley Ford in Minnesota discounts OEM Ford parts.

It looks like the keypad is adhesive backed for self installation.
