Re: Seeking RV Insurance for 4WD New SMB

Here is a link to an SMB page-scroll down to the 'What is a Sportsmobile' section to see details on what must be installed in an SMB for it to be classified as a motorhome:

Re: Seeking RV Insurance for 4WD New SMB

I recently renewed my policy with Poliseek. Last year it was through Progressive and this year I switched to National Interstate. The terms of my deal is "Total Loss Replacement" set at $109k. Which (if I understand correctly) means that they will replace up to $109k. If I want to be able to have them write a check for $109k if it gets totalled then I need an appraisal and "agreed value".

Based on the wealth of information above, it seems like I'm about as covered as I'm going to get. Surprisingly, the cost didn't go down quite as dramatically but I am paying less at about $900 yr. That's WITH several tickets.

I too have Progressive will full replacement value coverage. I was directed to them by USAA (who co-owns my Sprinter).

As far as Progressive in Colorado goes, a vehicle with more than 4" of lift is not covered (something they don't tell you up front), however an RV has no restrictions on lift height.

This insurance thing is getting so complicated I'll bet my insurance probably doesn't cover any vehicles with round wheels, that travel over 15 MPH, or require some type of fuel or energy source to make it go. In other words, only the Flintstone car is covered. That's what you see if you read the fine print in the policy!

Everything is covered 100% until you have a claim. Major Major Major Major went on to write insurance policies after the war.

Re: Seeking RV Insurance for 4WD New SMB

I like Dave have the Good Sam GMAC full coverage policy and found them to be very responsive , 1 phone call after backing into a brand new Altima and everything was taken care of ! I even contacted the poor guy that I hit and he said that his claim was handled immediately .

Hey Gregg, my Aluminess bumper also destroyed an Altima except she actually backed into me. The problem was I thought I was against a speed bump and decided to apply throttle to get over it. Her trunk did not like that Aluminess bumper GMAC handled it well.
