Question Sink's water source piping split by T-connections: Purpose?

Hello

I have a 2001 F-250 RB50 SMB

The water source piping connects to two T-connections from the water pumping system under the seat into the cabinet under the sink before going to the facet.

In the following image, I have tagged two pipes, colored boxes red and green.

What are the purposes of these two tagged pipes?

Thank you

My SMB uses blue and red for cold and hot.

Do you have a shower? Does one go to it?

You have hot water? If not, the other T could be for both sides of the sink.

My best guess, would be: red box - this pipes goes to city water inlet on side of van. The green box I would tend to agree with Chris - split for cold and hot water faucet connections.

Do you have a shower port? Usually when you turn on your water pump it pressurizes the entire system - so the three branches could supply the sink, shower port, and hot water heater (as Chris mentions).
It’s possible the lowest hose could go to an outside drain so you can effectively purge water in the system for winterizing. You’d have follow the line and/or look under you van for a drain tube with a shut-off valve at the end.

My MY2000 SMB has a similar setup, back then I don't think they used red/blue Pex. In my setup, the pipe in the red box goes to city water inlet, pipe in no box goes over to the water pump and water tank on the other side of my van, pipes in green box went to a faucet that required 2 separate supply connections. I have no hot water, nor shower of any kind, in my van so SMB just supplied cold and cold to both sides of the faucet. I have since replaced my faucet to a faucet that only requires 1 supply connection so I just cut and capped one of the pipes in your green box, in my van.

Thank you for your reply
  1. Does it have a shower? No, this SMB was not built to include one.
  2. Does it have hot water? No, this SMB was not built to have hot water.

Thank you for your reply
  1. red box - this pipe goes to the city water inlet on the side of the van. I will verify.
  2. green box - split for cold and hot water faucet connections. This makes sense, since this SMB does not have hot water, the same unheated water source is used for both.
