I've got a few more details, and should say that some of this is human (my) error. I had neglected to flip the switch above the driver's seat to ON. And I had Starcool on OFF and I had the Starcool Fan switch on OFF. So I am getting cool air in 12V mode. I have yet to test 110V. Any pointers on how to clean the A/C Filter? Or more specifically, do I remove it to clean? Got the air vent off, took 2 more screws out, but not sure how forceful to be on the Filter itself.

It should be a simple piece of foam you can take off. Easily washed with dish soap and water if dirty.

Any pointers where to pick one up?

Make one. They sell foam like that at hardware stores in small rolls. Just cut and place in the shape needed. It is just a dust filter.

I had the similar situation, my middle AC vent didn't blow, and i don't think you will be able to fix it by yourself, bc there are so mane details and nuances

Regarding Star Cool system problems -- I just had my chassis AC system serviced - and I have a Star Cool system for the "house" AC. The amount of refrigerant recommended to fill the system is 4 lbs - 8oz -- that is for BOTH AC systems. I currently have 4lbs 4oz in mine - testing it all out in a drive tomorrow. My van/system is an original 2002 E350 - V10 - with only just over 6,000 actual miles.

Star Cool is blowing at about 60-65 degrees - which is damn good for a system that old. Star Cool was bought out by Danhard - so if you need service - try a Danhard mechanic/shop - and Google "Danhard AC" to possibly get answers to Star Cool Systems. I was told that SMB North and Austin should be able to work on the Star Cools - or replace the SC with a newer Danhard system. They both take up about the same room in regards to mounting. System should have just under 260 lbs pressure on the "high" side to work optimally - any more than that on the high side can be a problem for a Star Cool system (Iv'e been told).

This his chart shows what pressures to expect at different temps. You would only see 260lbs at an ambient temp of 90degF or better. At a cooler temp, you would want a lesser pressure.....
