Re: TGTBT
I don't know even know what to say.
Holy Cow (bed) or Where there is a Ray, There is a way!
So first great movie as always.
That Taylor Arts Motion Picture Studio sure does crank out some great movies and fast too.
And that Cristine sure is a great director and film editor.
I like the interior its really cool. Is that coated aluminum like for an enclosed tailer wall? What ever it is it looks great. Is that Pirelli rubber flooring or something similar? Is it one big piece or smaller squares? The cow bed and side covers just make it even more unique. Great design, a cool sink, very usable and even solar, wow.
We cannot wait to see more.

Re: TGTBT
I decided to start my morning by watching the latest Christine and Marc production. What a great way to start the day.
I've also decided to try and work a Marcism into my vocabulary at least once a week. I haven't quite figured out how to use "Mississippi turd floater" in a sentance yet but I'm working on it.
That hand stitched cow hide bed and vampire interior has sure raised the bar for the rest of us.

Re: TGTBT
@questions...
The flooring is Johnsonite, comes in 2 foot squares as it would be incredibly heavy as a single sheet. It went down easily and needed very little cutting, as the 2 ft dimension fit the van floor very well. It is a full 1/8 inch thick, and is like tire rubber, and (for Gnarvan) it is as tough as a hobo turd. We looked at Loncoin, but you have to sweep/vacuum it as the little "coins" have sharp edges and dirt stays in between. Johnsonite can be wiped clean with a rag, no brushing. It is available in a huge range of colors, and is amazing stuff. It is also expensive, but can be bought by the individual square vs. carton.
Yep, the metal is the same as trailer aluminum sheeting, black on both sides, very light but plenty tough when applied to a plywood substrate (walls) or aluminum framing (side boxes) Most of what you see above the bed will be covered in a pouch system made of neoprened (sp?) canvas like you see on top-grade truck tarps, also tough, and washable. The rest of the aluminum is 3/16 for load bearing use. The sink housing is RayStone, made by Ray, aluminum, with self-etching primer and bedliner. We just love it! Imbedded in the sink house is the sink, vent and trap to graywater, new furnace with two-direction output ducting plus combustion ducting, thermostat, solar controls, 110 edison plug, 12v plug, switching for porch light and water pump, 25ft coil water hose, space for on demand water heater(phase 2) and a small cabinet big enough for toothbrush, soap et al. All in a box about the size of a second grader. Ray is the best, NASA couldn't have crammed more goodies in there!
Hair-on cowhide is amazing stuff. This project used some hides that we had in the house as rugs for many years. They never shed, never wear out, never stain, no itch, no scratch, never shrink or fade. Vacuum easily, and if you drop your ice cream on it, you can take it out, wash it with the garden hose, let dry for a couple hours and it is like brand new. Some folks might find it weird, being animal product and all, but I think it has fabulous overall utility/value, and is better than any other fabric out there.

Re: TGTBT
Clearly your next mod should be the black canvas sides for the penthouse. I don't blame Ray for pulling out all that wiring. Modifying other people's wiring jobs is a nightmare.
Another great video, thanks for sharing.

Nice, all I can say is nice! Where do you get Johnsonite? I'm still looking at flooring options.

Re: TGTBT
@Bronc... all of the original wiring was laying all about the floor behind the loose wall panels, just laying around any old way, rubbin' and scrubbin, and gittin' shredded. Ray did a surgical-quality rewire with protections throughout, and NO wiring on the floor. Such a pro! And, all of this fresh interior makes the PH look worn, so yep, PH is on the wishlist. Kinda thinking the newer silver color is good with my van color, but if black is available... when I get up the $$$ to go for it... then it might just be black!
@Scotty... my local flooring store had samples, but we ordered from a warehouse in Memphis. You can contact Stout's Carpet & Flooring in Oxford MS 662-234-5227 to get routed to the warehouse. The color selection was striking, and the final product is exactly what we wanted. Nothing else comes close IMHO.

Re: TGTBT
LOVE the remodel - looks great! How is the cab noise after redoing the walls and floor? Not too much can drown out the 7.3, but I'll bet you got rid of a bunch of squeaks in the process.

Re: TGTBT
Dang, don't know how I missed this video until now! Just watched it and that interior is looking good. That cow hide reminds me of an old 67 Triumph bobber motorcycle I had with 20 inch apes and a cow hide seat just like y'all's cow hide bed. Sweet! ; ) I'll be picking up my van from Chris at UJoint on 09/14/12 so I hope y'all will be around that weekend. I'm probably going to run through Oxford on the way home to come check your van out.

Re: TGTBT
The interior is looking great. Very functional layout and possibly the most unique interior upolstry choice on the forum. Congrats on a great build and kudos to the Taylor Arts editing crew
