Hi! We just got an E150 and the tire pressure recommended is 55 in the front, 80 in the back. Seems to be driving fine that way.

So is it often normal to run lower PSI in rear dualies? Our 2020 Sprinter 3500 4WD now has BFG K02 LT235/85R16 tires. Between the door jamb specs for the rears, a recommendation from Adrenaline Vans for the fronts, and tire tables we have found for our van (10,450 lb fully loaded with front axle = 4,190 lb and rear axle = 6,260 lb), we are running rears at 58 psi and fronts at 68 psi...

Here is a link to the load/air pressure table for your size tire:

https://tirepressure.com/lt235-85r16-tire-pressure

Here is the link to the same information for other KO2 sizes:

https://tirepressure.com/bfgoodrich-...-tire-pressure

There are other calculators out there.

Your 4190 front equals 2095 lbs per front tire - chart recommends about that.

Your rears would be 6260 divided by four tires - 1562 lbs per tire. Maybe they are allowing for loads beyond your observed weight?

Yeah, I started with a stock passenger EB 2013 E350, and the door panel says 80 in the rear, and 60 up front. I've never run anything that high, and wouldn't have put 80 in them except the (stock) TPMS complains if it's even a tiny bit less than 80.

Since I've prob added some weight over stock, I assume 80 is even more appropriate, but like the OP, uneven pressure (and >40psi) were new to me.

Garage
The pressure monitors can be reset and they don't even have to remove the tires and I've never been charged for a reset. If you have your tires rotated they have to do it anyway. At around five or six years the monitors will probably need replaced because their batteries will start dying. The garage or tire store can tell which one has gone bad but you may as well have them all replaced since, unless one has gone bad early, they will all be losing power about the same time.
