I cut the pex crimp off with a Drexel. I didn’t want to the the tube as it would’ve been too short. Got a new valve with a pex clamp and will install later. Thanks for all the comments and advice!

Leave it alone

Too late now, as you have already cut it off it sounds like. But for the point of discussion, and for other readers, I would have just left it alone. All that valve does is drain a little bit of water out of the line between the inflow attachment and the interior shut off valve. (In my 2010 SMB E-50 plan the interior shut off is under the sink.) When opened that valve only drains about 5 feet of water line, perhaps a cup or two of water. Just open it, drain the water, and there will be nothing left to drip so long as the interior (under sink) valve is closed.
