Who's going to Alaska this summer?

Looks like a great advanture there Jeff!
Liard hot springs....if you haven’t been, it is one of the most spectacular of natural hot springs we’ve ever been to, the boardwalk leading up to the springs is worth a visit alone. We had a special visit this time with a steady short rain.

For those fans of “gold rush”, here’s Tony Beet’s barge the Jasmine B just sitting on the beach down by the ferry, I was told by a longtime local that the whole barge build was a farce and just for TV.....and the thing was a pos that couldn’t even make it past the river bend, so they filmed everything on the beach right in town.

Some more rigs from in town, there was a moto rally going on, on top of the caravan of travelers heading up to AK and running up the Dempster, so lots of big rv’s, bikes and the sort around town....this was at the in town campground, we chose to stay across the river at the more traditional wooded campground, this place was packed!

WoW lots of people.....waiting hours for the ferry. Not my style of Sportsmobiling.
I love that area........maybe there's just to many people in the world.

Yeah, what he said. Does look like a good time. Great photos. Too bad about waiting so long for a ferry ride, but other than that, l'd love to be there.

Wow, that’s crazy for the ferry at Dawson. Last year we got across without any wait, but it was toward the end of June and after the moto rally. Back in the 90s when we’d take it there was never a line that I can recall.

I did not realize there was a moto rally......I will retract my comment about the crowd and wait time for the ferry.
Like Brian I have made the crossing going both way a number of times and no wait.
I just returned from Florida and experienced the same issues during "bike week".
Difficult facing some of today's realities ....lots of people. My E 350, 03, 7.3, 260,000 mile Sportsmobile has seen it all and we like the less traveled roads.
Will be leaving in the next week in search of such roads in Utah, Wyoming and Colorado.

They don’t call it a rally, but it really is. A gathering maybe?
