Re: The Zombie Van Build (feat. REDOVAL)
Ah, I see now. I read "this" rig, but on second look it says "his".
Never mind. Carry on.

Yep, I'm curious too. What are those second row seats from? Are the belts completely integrated in to the seats?

The seats came with the van from the previous owner and were nicely done. They are original to the VW Routan and have the swivel base/lay flat seat back option. They feature the integrated seat belts and have wheels on the bottom for easy manipulation into and out of the van.

Re: The Zombie Van Build (feat. REDOVAL)
A VW makes more sense. The previous owner told me they came from a Chrysler Town & Country. But they seem way too Teutonic to be Detroit plush.

I believe the seats were actually used in both applications, but only rarely in the Chrysler version. They are awesome seats! I searched for quite a while to source a pair for mine and came up short.

Re: The Zombie Van Build (feat. REDOVAL)
Maiden Voyage Complete: 2500 Miles throughout Northern CA and Oregon. The Zombie Van performed admirably. All the electrical work that Scott did really helped boost my confidence in the van being able to fire up reliably. And, yes, Scott had to explain to me how to start up a diesel motor properly. D'oh!
Full trip report with pics to come in another thread and another forum section.
Getting ready for Phase Two of the build!

Re: The Zombie Van Build (feat. REDOVAL)
We were able to get a few more mods done before another trip up north.

Re: The Zombie Van Build (feat. REDOVAL)
The van worked great for Nobbie's previous trip, but there were some odd handling characteristics. Surely the new steering damper replacing the leaking old one won't hurt!

Re: The Zombie Van Build (feat. REDOVAL)
Wrapped up with some new Fast Bright 55w ballasts, horn (didn't have one when acquired), and led dome light bulbs to reduce current draw when camping.
