Re: Molded front floor mat recommendations

I bought the carpet at Lowe's. It's just regular indoor-outdoor carpet. Cost me $23. Here's a link to my thread where I cover it (pun).

Two years on I couldn't be happier with it.

Re: Molded front floor mat recommendations

I have put weather tech mats in all my rides, I prefer the rubber over the moulded plastic of the husky. Both are made in the USA!!

How did you get it to conform to the humps on the wheel wells? Did you cut and glue? or sew?

I've done Lowe's indoor/outdoor in 2 vans now like WVvan suggested. It isn't molded of course, so it's not as perfect as OEM carpet would be, but it's much thinner and shapes easily. If you are putting floor mats over it you will be fine. If you don't, you may want to use some good glue to make it conform to the wheel wells. I used residential carpet padding under mine. Just use your OEM stuff as a template.

Re: Molded front floor mat recommendations

I used carpet found at HD and used 3M spray adhesive to tack it down on top of dynamat/dynapad combo, came out looking good.

Re: Molded front floor mat recommendations

In your opinions, anyone, I have 2 options for carpeting. I can get new Ford carpets for about 500. or I could go the HD/ Lowes route and it would be about 200-250. This includes carpet and backing pad, indoor outdoor. I realize the store carpet won't be perfect. The factory rug would take about 1 hour to put in. the store??? Time is money also, right? Especially with 5 kids who would love Daddy to be with them instead of playing with van. But on the other hand, I don't like to spend $ when I can do something myself.

Re: Molded front floor mat recommendations

I didn't use any adhesive to hold the cockpit carpet. The seats are bolted down on top of it and with the plastic edge pieces and floor mats it stays in place just fine.

175 for me for carpet and padding. 2-3 hour project if your van doesn't have cabinets etc over the carpet. Yank it out and use it as a template.

Re: Molded front floor mat recommendations

already threw old mat away. It was completely soaked with Veg oil and diesel. (Oops). I know the back will be no problem, I am just concerned with the humps up front on the sides.
