Re: Change in Administration

First of all...I just realized how long I've been a member of this forum. Wow!!! I definitely want to thank Jage for setting up and running this forum. More importantly, thanks to everyone who has contributed to it and answered all of my questions, even the stupid ones (there are no such things as stupid questions, just stupid people). I cannot imagine going through the process of configuring, buying and maintaining a Sportsmobile without this forum.

Andy, thanks for taking over, I'm sure you will do a great job.

-Geoff

Jage: I should have said this sooner. Thank you for not banning me!

PS. Back to campfire discussions of religion and politics...

AndyR: You can't be all that bad if you host Fuelly.com

A number of people at the nation who "hypermile" the 7.3 use Fuelly and so do some of the Chevy Volt guys. I am hoping to add a 2017 Volt to the family lineup.

Re: Change in Administration

So just as an added FYI, one of the reasons for this move was we have been bursting at the seems on the current server, volume, space everything is maxed and I've been deleting stuff just to keep afloat.

Because of the transition the database was backed up, and when that happened the last bit of the disk space was consumed and all functions got locked out. That's why the forum was down so long and to compound matters my personal email and my other sites were all affected.

Everything seems restored now, so we can return to planning our coup against the powers that be!

Re: Change in Administration

Jage, thank you for all your love and support you have given to the forum. It is a great resource. I especially like that the people who visit are polite, friendly, and helpful to each other. I find myself spending more time here than any other forum because of it.

Andy, welcome aboard.

Re: Change in Administration

Jage,
Thank you for all you have done to create and maintain this forum over the years. It is a great daily resource I use to keep up on everyone's mods and to keep in touch with the great friends I have made here. I understand your desire to get some of your time back for yourself and your family, you deserve it!

I look forward to seeing what happens next. Andy, thanks for the open communication on your planned changes so far.
Eric

Re: Change in Administration

Jage, would like to echo the many well deserved thanks that have come your way. I relied on the forum during the dreaming/building process and continue to rely on it as an owner. I can't tell you the number of times I've had an issue that was either resolved through a search of the forum or by members actively participating in a thread. You helped build a true community. Wish you and your family fair winds and following seas.

Re: Change in Administration

Jage,

Thank you for all that you have done with and for this forum. I have not posted much at all, but I spend considerable time (obsessive, multiple times per day over the last several years) lurking, reading, and absorbing information from all the great contributors.

I enjoy the community feeling and hope that it continues.

Re: Change in Administration

@E350 - Thanks for the props on Fuelly, it's a neat site. We plan to add support for electric vehicles at some point later this year. When I was surfing around the site a while back I saw a photo from a member who had their SMB int he driveway with a Smart car parked behind. I thought it was neat to to see those two extremes. I own a Prius and until a few months ago had an F250 with a 6.4 which was heavily modded (tuner, delete, etc) and it got great mileage considering I could press a button to switch to a different tune and get nearly 500 hp and smoke the 35s (a friend totaled it).

I have to sign off for the night but I'll be around early tomorrow to answer any other questions that are posted.

Re: Change in Administration

Welcome aboard! It is a great community!

It was a little strange to announce the merge and then have the forum down for the afternoon. Made me wonder to myself about the situation.

I've visited several of the forums already in ownership in the past and never thought they were ad obnoxious. I've never really thought about forum ownership in the past as a business but I did like the fact that this forum was always a family, more personal than other forums I've visited.

Special thanks to Jage for his efforts in the past.
